Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of behavioural treatment. It helps people problem-solve. CBT also reveals the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviours that follow.

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP)

NLP stands for ‘neuro-linguistic programming’. ‘Neuro’ refers to the brain/neurones and sensory apparatus (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic (feeling), olfactory (smell) and gustatory (taste)), ‘linguistic’ refers to language and other means of communication (pictures, sounds, feelings, tastes, smells, and self-talk), and ‘programming’ refers to the way the mind can be altered to achieve specific outcomes.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that can be useful in treating mood disorders and suicidal ideation as well as for changing behavioural patterns such as self-harm and substance use.

DBT evolved into a process in which the therapist and client work with acceptance and change-oriented strategies and balance and synthesize them.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is the process of inducing a trance. It is the key that unlocks the door to the unconscious mind, allowing therapy at a deep and lasting level.

The term is sometimes used in place of ‘hypnotherapy’.

This is not strictly correct as hypnosis itself does not involve therapy (therapy is what the therapist does while the client is in a hypnotic trance).

Health Therapy

Health therapy is a treatment for a physical or mental health challenge. It can involve talking to a mental health professional who can help a person identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts through the use health psychology and psychological techniques to encourage and promote better health and lifestyle behaviours.

S.E.N.D. Family Support therapy

Work to develop young person’s resilience and self esteem by providing an environment where the child can engage with other children and interact. Provide counselling and support to the family.

Provide advice, and emotional support to help children and families navigate health, social care, and education systems.

The goal is to empower families to access the help they need.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a type of counselling that involves some or all members of a family.

It is used to help families deal with challenges, improve communication, and resolve conflicts.

S.E.N.D. Play Therapy

S.E.N.D. play therapy is a valuable approach that can benefit children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

This will involve engaging the child’s senses through activities like playing with sand, water, or textured materials. It can be calming, helping children relax and process emotions after a busy day.

Sensory play promotes emotional regulation and fine-tunes cognitive skills.

Philosophical Therapy

Philosophical therapy or counselling is a practice that uses philosophy, its theories, and ways of critical thinking to help people address ordinary problems of living.

Such problems include midlife crises, loss, career changes, moral problems, work-related stress, and a host of other common, human, life challenges.

Philosophical therapy puts deep thinking in the service of richer, more productive, and satisfying lives, giving us the tools to solve problems more confidently and to live more conscious and rewarding lives.

Hypnobirthing

The use of hypnotic techniques during labour by an expectant mother to reduce the pain and emotional stress of delivery.
